Bye Bye 2025, Hello 2026

So much activity in 2025 for Alnistar it’s difficult to know where to begin, so, rather reflect on what was a ‘hard work’ year, this post looks forward to the culmination of this work bearing fruit.

Alnistar has clients from a variety of different sectors, industries and jusrisdictions, but the one common thread heading into the new year is a sense that the efforts put in during the preceding 12 months will pay off in the next.

Starting in the crypto world, the markets during 2025 were at best ‘unpredictable’ and this caused some pain, and knock on effect, delays to some things that could or should have been wrapped up in Q4 2025. This now though opens up opportunity for what will then look like a fast start for 2026.

Securing funding remains a challenge all of the clients we work with (that are seeking it) across all sectors. The VC landscape is broken with none looking for early positions, and all hunting that safe ‘post revenue’ and ‘high user engagement’ opportunity that frankly once a business has arrived at, they need the VC less and less. It’s very tiring hearing VC’s saying, ‘your too early’ when what they actually mean is ‘we’re very risk averse’.

Whilst Alnistar isn’t an investment firm, sitting in on so many meetings with founders and entrepreneurs who have drive, ambition, solid business models and innovative thinking, only for them to be squashed by these arrogant attitudes and blinkered visions is frankly heartbreaking.

Alnistar is engaged on multiple initiatives to help solve this, through its work with the Guernsey Innovation Board and the newly formed Guernsey Blockchain Members Club we hope to bring initiatives to really support the entrepreneurs and innovators get their business ideas into a reality.

We’ll update on this theme more in the coming months, but with the new impetus around Digital Finance from the GFSC and the States of Guernsey, it finally feels like there is a door, if not open, at least unlocked and ready to be opened!

Happy 2026!
